A historical temple named Prasat Ek Phnom can be found in Ta Kom village, Peam Ek commune, Ek Phnom district, Battambang province, 12.29 kilometers from the provincial capital. Travel time for tourists in a car or motorcycle is at least 20 minutes. King Suryavarman I ordered the construction of the Ek Phnom Temple in 1027, which was built in the 11th century. This temple was constructed in honor of the Brahmanic god. An approximately 30-meter-long courtyard surrounds this ancient temple, which is surrounded by a gallery made of sandstone that is 49 meters long from south to north and 25 meters long from east to west. It is constructed on a two-story ridge facing east, with a gallery enclosing the temple's tower and a laterite wall, as well as a moat around it.
