Preah Vihear Private Full Day Tour - Preah Vihear - Bayon Adventures Travel

At 7:00 am depart from your hotel for a whole day trip to Preah Vihear from Siem Reap by driving via Anlong Veng (118 km 2-hour drive). Anlong Veng was a former stronghold of Khmer Rouge; visit the house of former Khmer Rouge commander, Tamok, (the butcher). Continue another one-hour drive to Preah Vihear, the 10th Century Temple Unesco World Heritage. Preah Vihear was built in different periods, from the 10th to late 12th century by various Khmer Kings. Picnic lunch on the spot at the top of the mountain where the temple is situated, visit its beautiful carving and bas – relief as well as you can view the landscape of Cambodia and Thailand. Drive back to Siem Reap, if time permits, you can visit Banteay Srei (Angkor Pass is not included) and other temples along the way. Arrive at Siem Reap around 6 pm, tour ends at your hotel. Preah Vihear temple opens from 7:30 am till 5:30 pm but tourists can only climb up the hill of Preah Vihear till before 4:30 pm. All nationalities are allowed to visit this temple now including people from Thailand and NO passport or photocopy is required to be present at the ticket booth anymore.
