Arrive at Phnom Penh international airport, you will be met & greeted by your tour guide and transferred to a centrally located hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, take sightseeing to the most remarkable sites of Phnom Penh including, the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, and National Museum. Continue to Wat Phnom where the history of Phnom Penh started. In the evening, have a nice walk along the river where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset. Overnight at the hotel Phnom Penh.
In the morning, visit Genocide Museum Tuol Sleng (former prison during Khmer Rouge rule from 1975-1978). Move to Killing Field Choeung Ek where a prisoner is transferred for execution. In the afternoon, enjoy shopping or exploring the city at Russian Market and Central Market. Overnight at the hotel in Phnom Penh.
In the morning, an overland drive for Siem Reap 314 km, on the way, stop at Skun village, where the villagers sell fried spiders (tarantula) and crickets. Arrive in Kampong Thom before noon, and visit Sambor Prei Kuk which was the capital that lasted back to the 7th century of the Khmer. Lunch at Kampong Thom by my own account Continue to Siem Reap, en route, visit Kampong Khleang, the largest fishing community on the great lake Tonlé Sap, to visit the stilt houses, the fishing method, smoked-fish production, floating village, etc…, Arrive Siem Reap in the late afternoon, then transfer to the hotel for check-in. Free at your own leisure to discover the city. Overnight at the hotel in Siem Reap.
In the morning, visit a jungle temple, Ta Prohm, which is embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees. It is well-known as Tomb Raider filmed inside. Continue to Tanei, another temple in the jungle and it’s inaccessible by car where we can trek and spend around half an hour for this treasure in the forest (it’s very peaceful). Walk along the west gate along the forest till reach the east entrance of Ta Keo temple and enjoy the view from the top. In the afternoon, explore the kingdom of Angkor by visiting the last capital of the Khmer Empire, Angkor Thom via the South Gate, the giant stone faces city temple of Bayon, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terrace, and the Leper King Terrace. In the late afternoon, we climbed up to the top of Phnom Bakheng for a sunset view over Angkor Area—dinner with Apsara traditional Khmer performance at a local restaurant Overnight at the hotel in Siem Reap.
In the morning, visit Angkor Wat, the most incredible temple and the largest religious site in the world. In the afternoon, visit Banteay Srei, the exquisite ‘Women’s Citadel’. On the way back, have a nice walk along the typical village of Badak, where you can experience the daily life of Cambodians in the countryside, plantations around the village for daily consumption, and the houses on the stilts.
In the morning, visit Les Artisans D’ Angkor where you can see their stone and wood carving workshops. Then you will move to local markets for shopping. Continue to Silk Farm where we can learn the technique to produce natural Cambodian silk clothes and accessories. Accessible at your own leisure till time to transfer to the airport for departure flight for the next destination.
