MondulKiri, one of the 25 provinces in the Kingdom of Cambodia, is located in the northern part of the Kingdom and borders Ratanak Kiri, Stung Treng, and Kratie Province. It is also situated on the plateau area which borders Vietnam. The city of Mondulkiri is located in a mountainous area extending 14,288 square kilometers which is the largest land area in the 25 provinces. Based on the Population Census 2008, Mondulkiri has a population of 61,107 persons, the smallest after Kep, and the population density is 4 persons per sq. km. Therefore, we can explain that MondulKiri has the smallest population with mountainous forests.
